Sponsor a Pet

Pet Welfare and The Petfinder.com Foundation offer a program that allows you to sponsor a homeless pet that has touched your heart, but which, for whatever reason, you cannot adopt at this time. It costs an average of about $800 to provide care for a pet while he/she waits for their forever home. This cost can dramatically increase with special needs animals' veterinarian care. You can start your special care by sponsoring a pet that melts your heart.

Your contribution of just $10 may enable a pet to receive the care needed until you or another loving family can take the pet home to it's new forever home. They all deserve this chance and your contributions make this happen.

Contributions are collected by The Petfinder.com Foundation and then distributed to Pet Welfare. All contributions are tax deductable as allowed by law. In the event that the pet you select has numerous sponsorships or has already been adopted by the time your donation is received, Pet Welfare may apply your donation to the ongoing needs of other animals still waiting for their forever home.

Reesie and Mike (pictured here), as well as other special needs animals currently at Pet Welfare, would all benefit from a donation/sponsorship.

How to Sponsor

1. Go to our adoptable dogs or adoptable cats page.

2. Select the dog or cat you might be interested in sponsoring.



NOTE: Consider sponsoring an older or special needs animal whose chances of finding a home are more difficult.

3. Scroll down until you see the, "Sponsor (pet's name)", button on the right and then click it.

4. Follow the instructions from The Petfinder.com Foundation until payment is processed.
